CIMB Bank Vietnam & ECO Vietnam Group:

Upgrading Sanitation and Living Facilities for 850 Hmong Students at Hau Thao School, Sapa

ECO Vietnam Group is proud to announce the successful completion of a meaningful community development project, supported by a VND 250 million sponsorship from CIMB Bank Vietnam. The project aimed to upgrade and renovate the restroom facilities and boarding areas at the Hau Thao Primary and Secondary Semi-Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, located in Muong Hoa Commune, Sapa Town, Lao Cai Province.

On November 29, 2024, representatives from CIMB Bank Vietnam and ECO Vietnam Group came together for the official handover and inauguration ceremony, where the school principal, Mr. Lieu Tien Son, received the new facilities on behalf of the students and teachers. Beyond the infrastructure support, CIMB Bank Vietnam staff also donated educational materials, books, and organized a workshop to promote personal hygiene awareness and public cleanliness among the students.

This project marks the third successful collaboration between CIMB Bank Vietnam and ECO Vietnam Group. During the ceremony, we had the opportunity to share how fortunate and grateful we are to have found a corporate partner who deeply understands and is committed to community development and educational empowerment. Both organizations have worked closely to maximize the long-term and sustainable impact of CSR initiatives — not only bringing meaningful change to rural areas in Vietnam but also inspiring employees and volunteers to be part of greater causes for the community and society.

In addition to infrastructure projects, throughout our partnership, CIMB Bank Vietnam has generously donated over 50 refurbished laptops, enabling EVG to organize computer literacy, STEM, English, and online/offline learning programs for children. Currently, CIMB Bank Vietnam staff members are also volunteering to teach an online “Introduction to Economics” class for high school students at our EVG Community Library Project in Tra Vinh.

We look forward to continuing this strong and impactful partnership with CIMB Bank Vietnam for many more meaningful projects to come. On behalf of the teachers and students of Hau Thao School, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to CIMB Bank Vietnam for their trust, support, and unwavering commitment. PwC Vietnam has successfully organized their first offline Firmware Townhall for over 1,300+ staff members. I love their Formula Of Future Success message of R – I – S – E i.e. Resilience, Impact, Strategy and Empowerment to drive growth in an ever-evolving business landscape.  In which, Resilience and Impact are key important factor for every business to breakthrough for this VUCA world. PwC VN invited EVG founder – Mr Pham Van Anh to share his experience when partnering with PwC VN for CSR program.

EVG is also happy to know PwC Vn also shared their positive experience when partnering with us in corporate social responsibility program.

Celebrating Tet 2025 with PwC Vietnam at EVG Community Library Project #3

This marked the second time that ECO Vietnam Group had the honor of partnering with PwC Vietnam for a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative — and once again, the impact was truly remarkable.

This year, PwC Vietnam generously sponsored a rooftop solar energy system with a capacity of 8kWp and a 10kWh battery storage for the library. After carefully consulting with multiple providers, we selected Viettel to install the system, valued at VND 150 million. This solar energy system not only supports the library’s operations but also aligns perfectly with EVG’s 2025 vision: “Start-Up – Innovation – Green Aspirations” — with Green Aspirations focusing on reducing emissions, moving toward net-zero goals, and increasing tree planting initiatives.

In addition, PwC Vietnam gifted:

• 15 bicycles to students facing financial hardship across primary, secondary, and high schools,

• 150 Tet gift packages for 150 children attending the “Happy Tet” festival at the library.

To express our deep gratitude, ECO Vietnam Group coordinated with three local schools to select students and organize a heartfelt welcome for the PwC Vietnam team. It was a joyful, festive day, filled with laughter, gratitude, and hope for a brighter future.

Seeing the happy faces of the children, parents, and teachers — I couldn’t help but walk around with a smile, overwhelmed by the simple yet profound happiness that filled the air.

we were honored to welcome PwC Vietnam to join hands with ECO Vietnam Group and the EVG Community Library Project in a meaningful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

Together, PwC Vietnam and ECO Vietnam Group brought joy, knowledge, and practical support to the children at the EVG Community Library. Thanks to PwC’s generosity and dedication, the library has been enriched with essential resources and facilities, including:

• A water filtration system to ensure access to clean water for the students,

• Six large bookshelves to expand the library’s collection,

• Fifteen bicycles for hardworking students from underprivileged backgrounds,

• Ten solar-powered lights to keep the library bright and welcoming even after sunset,

• Along with many thoughtful gifts and heartfelt contributions of time and effort.

The students at the EVG Community Library were filled with happiness and gratitude. Their smiles and excitement are a true testament to the impact of this meaningful partnership.

We look forward to welcoming the PwC Vietnam team back again soon!

1. Program between EVG Community Library and Happy Feet

The Happy Feet team wishes to (1) spread the reading culture and renew the bookcase of the EVG Community Library to help children access meaningful and inspirational books for personal development; (2) convey useful and interesting knowledge to children through organizing experiential activities integrating topics on awareness of environmental protection; and (3) create a playground in  which students can improve life skills  and gain self-confidence.

2. Detailed activities

– The number of members: 18

– The number of students expected to participate in the program: 50

– The number of students participating in activities on April 30, 2022: 92

+ The group organized fun activities for students: Divided into 3 playgroups, children could learn about  environmental protection while playing games  and participating in various activities such as: “planting trees; building tables and chairs from eco-bricks, and making the wishing tree”. More specifically, while the water purification experiment  helped students understand the importance of trees, making eco-bricks highlighted the act of recycling nylon and plastics.

+ Game stations namely “Tracing the Elephant Footprints”; “Jump sack”; “Laughter in Ka Sa” and “The connection booth” broke the ice, bringing about a more open atmosphere.

+ The team organized a book reading session, arts performing and movie displaying about dream-drawings. In this activity, the group organized a group reading session incorporating riddles and quizzes for the children, with hopes to give them a memorable time thereby, inspiration and motivation were created.

+ The team distributed 200 gifts to local children. The gift included a backpack, a type of toothpaste, a toothbrush, a towel, a note, and other school stationery.

3. Outcomes:

The number of students who participated was greater than expectations. The game stations were  not only fun and practical for the children but also warmed the hearts of the volunteering team.

In this program, the participants brought specific products, including 3 sets of chairs made of ecological bricks, approximately 500 new books for the library, more than 30 new game paraphernalia; more than 100 souvenir photos taken of participating students and 200 gifts for students in need.

Activities within the program were organized with a clear educational orientation, designed for local children specifically; the members supporting the program were very enthusiastic and creative; new joyful activities were added so as to raise attention.

[April, 2022] THE FIRST OFFLINE PROJECT IN COOPERATION WITH MICHAEL PAGE AFTER TWO YEARS OF COVID, MARKING THE RETURN OF ECO VIETNAM GROUP

Over the past two years, we had to suspend a lot of our plans to fight the pandemic. That time was never easy, still EVG did our best to maintain activities for children at two community libraries in Gia Bac and Tra Vinh through online projects with great efforts.

Now that life in Vietnam is in adaptation with a “New Normal”, we are back with our first offline project!

On April 15, 2022, the EVG community library in Tra Vinh province couldn’t be more excited to welcome Michael Page Vietnam’s visit. The event marks the first time for a while since the children could all participate in group activities at the library. Everyone in the group and the volunteers joined hands to plant flowers, paint the walls, and renew the library, creating more spaces for the children to raise their spirits as well as determination for studying and developing themselves.

The joy and excitement sparkling from the children’s eyes when participating in the games which haven’t been seen for quite a long time, were enough to warm many hearts, giving the volunteers strength to continue the work despite any fatigue. Even though the sky on that day is a bit gray due to the early seasonal rain, the team’s tremendous enthusiasm could not be put off. A sincere and heartfelt thank you to Michael Page Vietnam and all volunteers; we couldn’t have done it without you.
